HOW IT WORKS
Reduce your self-isolation period early by following these steps:
1. Complete the passenger locator form before arriving
Before arriving in the UK you’ll need to say that you’ll be using the Test to Release scheme on the passenger locator form.
To complete the passenger locator form you need:
- Passport details
- Travel details, including times and dates
- The address where you will stay in the UK (if applicable)
- A booking reference number and the name of the test provider to find out if you can end self-isolation early
2. Self-isolate between day 1 and day 5 and get tested on or after day 5
After you arrive in the UK from a quarantine country you will need to self-isolate from day 1 to day 5. You’ll have to go straight to the address you plan to self-isolate and self-isolate according to the UK government’s instructions.
Take your test at home on or after day 5. For example, if you arrive on a Monday you can get tested from Saturday. To take your test simply follow our medical practitioner’s guidance online. You will have your test results within 15 minutes. You can end your self-isolation early if your test result is negative.
3 – Enter your PIN number into your passenger locator form
You will receive a unique PIN number which can be entered into your passenger locator form.
WHAT IS A TEST TO RELEASE?
When you return to the UK from a country not on the government’s travel corridor list you’ll need to self-isolate for 10 days at home. By taking our test on or after day 5 from arrival you can end self-isolation early if you have a negative COVID-19 test result. This is known as the Test to Release scheme.
Official information on Test to Release scheme here.
WHEN TO TAKE THE TEST?
The earliest you can take a test is on or after day 5 after you arrive in the UK. For example, if you arrive on a Monday, you can take a test from the following Saturday.
WHEN CAN I END SELF-ISOLATING?
If the test is negative you can end self-isolating as soon as you get the result.
If the test is positive you will need to self-isolate for another 10 days. Count the 10 days starting from the day you took the test, or from when you first had symptoms if that was earlier.
If you’re living or staying with someone in the UK they should also self-isolate for 10 days, starting from the day you took the test.
According to the law you may be fined up to £10,000 if you do not self-isolate when you need to.
If you arrive from a country that is on the Gov.uk banned list during the last 10 days you must complete the passenger locator form and self-isolate along with members of your household. You cannot be released early through the Test to Release Scheme.
